Long-time Yazoo City resident Robert L. Sigrest Jr. went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2025, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Robert Sigrest was born on July 5, 1937 to Robert L. Sigrest Sr., and his wife Rubye Sigrest. He is survived by his wife, Beth Hammons Sigrest; and his brother, George F. Sigrest of Yazoo City, MS.
The Sigrests made their home in Yazoo City until moving to their retirement home in Brandon, MS in 2020.
An ordained Southern Baptist minister, R.L. and his wife Beth served for 35 years as Christian music evangelists singing their way across the United States and many other countries. They recorded several albums of Christian music.
In later years, Rev. Sigrest was engaged in interim music ministries, including First Baptist, Yazoo City, First Baptist, Cleveland and Calvary Baptist Church in Vicksburg, MS.
Sebrell Funeral Home oversaw the arrangements. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery, Yazoo City. Rev. Bruce Bryant and Rev. Jackie Banes officiated.
