The new year is moments away with many heading into 2026 on the hopeful desire to carry out several resolutions from a healthier lifestyle to self-improvement to other personal goals.
We are no different here at The Herald with our intention to maintain our focus upon our readers and community. Our resolution is to continue that relationship based on integrity, watchdog journalism and community outreach. The community’s loyalty, readership and support to us remains our lifeblood and the foundation for our local journalism.
And our commitment is visible right here with this edition that you are holding. The Top Stories of 2025 show our role within our rural community through our coverage of government accountability, positive features, athletic achievements and more.
We want you to also be a part of our story in 2026. Our doors, emails and phones are open to all. Feel free to report a news tip that you feel is important. We encourage you to let us know when a milestone is accomplished within our community. Have an interesting photo? Send it to us! Do you want your opinion heard? Send us a Letter to the Editor. We will certainly see when we can do to tell your story.
And as always, we welcome any suggestion, commentary or criticism.
As Yazoo welcomes the New Year, The Herald welcomes its tradition of serving the community. May we resolve to continue to serve through professionalism and integrity. But may we also continue in love. We love our community and its people. Why wouldn’t we? We are a part of your community! We live and work alongside you.
We are here to serve our readers, and that is one resolution you can count on us keeping.
