GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi will present That '70s Family Day — a free event for the community — on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Museum.
The event will feature free admission to the Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., songwriting and dance workshops inspired by the music of the '70s, and arts activities with the Delta Arts Alliance. That '70s Family Day is funded in part by The King's Daughters and Sons Circle Number Two.
"We are so excited to present this fun-filled free family event to our community," said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. "It's going to be a wonderful day for families to bring their children to explore our exhibits and participate in music and arts activities. We encourage everyone to come out for this free event."
The free family day event will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which guests will be able to explore the Museum's exhibits for free and participate in arts activities with the Delta Arts Alliance. Music from the '70s will be playing throughout the event, and guests can participate in a songwriting workshop from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. where they'll learn songwriting techniques and explore genres of music from the 70s. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. guests can participate in a dance workshop where they'll learn moves and dance to the tune of '70s music with Tara Howse and the Delta Arts Alliance. Domino's Pizza and Mississippi Grounds will also be onsite with food and drink for purchase.
Admission to the event is free and RSVP is not required. The Mississippi Museum will be open for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, visit grammymuseumms.org.
