A Jackson arts institution is marking a golden milestone. On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Pearl River Glass Studio will celebrate 50 years of artistry, craftsmanship, and community with a free, family-friendly event at its Midtown location, 142 Millsaps Avenue.
Founded in 1975 by artist Andy Young, Pearl River Glass Studio grew from a one-car garage to one of the nation’s most respected stained glass studios, producing major commissions across Mississippi and the Southeast. Known for combining creativity, tradition, and innovation, PRGS has also become a cornerstone of Jackson’s arts community—most recently launching the Pearl River Glass Conservatory, a nonprofit offering classes and workshops to the public.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration runs from 2–6 PM and will feature:
- Live music and refreshments
- A retrospective show highlighting 50 years of stained glass
- Live glassmaking demonstrations and studio tours
- The debut of a new in-person shop with exclusive anniversary items
- Raffles, giveaways, and a silent auction benefiting the Conservatory (including the chance to win a year of free classes)
Visitors may enter from either 151 Wesley Avenue (classroom side) or 142 Millsaps Avenue (gallery side). All activities will be held in the classroom space.
“Pearl River Glass Studio has always been about more than just stained glass,” said Andy Young. “It’s about creating a place for art, imagination, and community to thrive right here in Jackson.”
Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. Whether it’s your first visit or your 50th, we’d love to see you here. The studio is always evolving, so come explore, celebrate, and see what’s new between 2 PM and 6 PM!
