Broc Willingham drove in four runs on four hits to lead Yazoo County to an 18-3 win over Amanda Elzy and help the Panther secure the Region 3-3A title.
Willingham had a single that drove in two runs in the first inning and did it again in the fifth inning for an outstanding performance at the plate.
The Panthers took an early lead with Gabe Shaffer hitting an RBI single and Josh Snow driving in a run with a double.
Clark Riley and Will Andrews both had RBI singles in the second inning to help build on the lead.
Yazoo County tacked on nine runs on seven hits in the top of the fifth inning.
After Willingham drove in two runs, Drew Wadford added a two-run double.
Chris Rials had a two-run single, Riley had an RBI single, and Andrews added a sacrifice fly.
Jamarion Edwards earned the win, striking out five batters while allowing five hits and only walking one batter.
Snow, Andrews, Rials and Riley all had multiple hits for the Panthers.
Yazoo County has won the last four games with wins of 15-0 and 12-0 over Thomas Edwards and a 14-3 win over Humphreys County.
The Panthers were set to travel to O’Bannon on Tuesday. That game had not been completed by press time. Yazoo County will travel to Riverside on Thursday and host Vicksburg next Monday.
