Funeral services for William “Billy” Wesley Hood will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville. Rev. Robert Davis and Rev. Danny Eddy will officiate. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Farmerville, LA. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville.
Billy was born November 4, 1937 in Benton, Mississippi and passed away on November 2, 2018 in Farmerville, LA. He was a member of the Franklin Street Baptist Church. Billy completed high school in Holly Bluff, MS and graduated from Mississippi State in June 1959. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Billy was employed by Rose Oil Company, Vicksburg, MS; General Electric, Dallas, TX; Olin Matheson Company (Riverwood), West Monroe, LA (1966 until retirement, May 31, 1998). While employed he attended various management training schools and he retired as the Director of Information Services. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Betty Cole Hood; son, Michael Wesley Hood.
Billy is survived by his wife, Jean Dean Hood; daughter, Allison Mazzola and husband Anthony; Lane Banks, Randall Banks and wife Donna, Kenny Cobb and wife Leslie; grandchildren, William Jackson, Thomas Danielle Fuller and husband Daniel, Tyler Banks and fiancé Reva, Shelby Banks, Claire Cobb and Casey Cobb; three great grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, RuthAnne Humphries and numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Lane Banks, Randy Banks, Kenny Cobb, Anthony Mazzola, Scott Taylor, Tyler Banks, Casey Cobb, and Juan Castillo. Honorary pallbearers will be John Edd Johnson, Buddy Dyess, Daniel Hollis, Junior Johnson, and Jackson Thomas.
