Ozzie Lee Rushing-McNair, 93, died April 18, 2018 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Ga.
Funeral services were Saturday at New Zion M.B. Church with Rev. Steve Dennis officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rushing-McNair was born Nov. 13, 1924 in Benton to Percy Rushing Sr. and Carrie Carter. She received her formal education in the Yazoo County Public School System in Benton and Satartia.
She was a member of St. Peter M.B. Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Mother’s Board. She was known as a caring and giving person with a kind heart and high spirit. She was not one to complain about anything, and she love God, her family and her St. Peter Church family.
She was preceded in death by her sons, George R. Ward and Luther Trimm, siblings, Inola Hollins, Frankie Lee Mayberry and Percy Rushing; and a niece, Doretha Clark.
Survivors include seven granddaughters, Sharon Harvey (Charles) of Warner Robins, Ga., Mary Ward of Yazoo City, Wanda Ward of Macon, Ga., Lou Margaret Trimm-Carter and Sheila Trimm of Yazoo City, and Katherine Honeycutt and Ozzie Ward of New Orleans, La.; one grandson, Dietrich Trimm of Yazoo City, three sisters, Willie B. Moorehead and Mable Riley of Chicago and Eliza Flowers of Minnesota; two daughters-in-law, Jessie Ray and Margaret Trimm; a special nephew, Willie Hollis (Jennifer) of Biloxi; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Smith, Rickey Harris, Kendric Carter, Chuncey Ward, Andrew Moorehead, Dietrich Trimm, KeyArlos Trimm and Michael Moorehead.
