Olivia Kirk Allen Bowman of Bentonia died, July 23, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
A Catholic memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Central Holmes Cemetery with Father Paneer Selvam Arockiam officiating. Stricklin-King Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Bowman was born March 3, 1943 in Marion, South Carolina to Charles Wesley Allen and Mary Belle McCormick Allen.
Olivia attended St. Clara Academy and graduated from Yazoo City High School. She earned a degree in cosmetology from Holmes Junior College. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling with her husband. One of her fondest memories was their trip to Ireland.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Kirk Bowman Griffin; sisters, infant Mary Imogene Allen and Imogene Allen Erickson; and her brothers, Charles Wesley Allen Jr. and David Emory Allen.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bobby Bowman; her daughter, Holly Bowman Barrett (David); sisters, Frances Allen Barbour (Jeppie) of Jackson and Barbara Allen Swayze (Clayton) of Benton; brother, Robert John Allen (Margaret) of Claremont, North Carolina; and sister-in-law, Kathy Morgan Allen of Yazoo City.
Serving as pallbearers are Kirk Erickson, Charles Allen Barbour, Austin Barbour, Jason Churchwell, Clay Swayze, Will Harvey and John Harvey.
