Born to the union of the late Yvonne McCoy Tucker and L. C. Tucker, Sr. on October 25, 1956 in Yazoo County, L. C. “Tee” Tucker Jr., 67, passed away on April 15, 2024 at Saint Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS.
Funeral services were held on April 20 at Westhaven Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Steve Dennis, pastor of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church of Yazoo City, officiating. Burial followed at Cedarwood Memorial Park on New Market Drive in Jackson.
Upon graduation at Yazoo City High School (Class of 1974), L. C. Tucker enlisted in the Armed forces and served two years before attending Hinds Community College in Raymond, where he earned his Associate degree in Electrical Contracting and Welding. He was dutifully employed at the Mississippi Museum of Art in various capacities for over 46 years. He also served as an active volunteer of the Yazoo-based Lifesavers Program since its inception in 1997.
On August 12, 1978, L. C. Tucker Jr. married his high school sweetheart/love of his life, Debra Robinson Tucker. They are the proud parents of two lovely daughters, Trudy Tucker of Jackson, MS and Tamela Tucker of Houston, TX.
Predeceased by both parents and his beloved Murry McCoy (uncle) and Carla Robinson (sister-in-law), L.C. Tucker, Jr. is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years and their two daughters; his siblings, Yvette Tucker Henderson and Rufus Tucker both of Jackson, MS, along with his aunt, Doretha McCoy (Roosevelt) Robinson of Clinton; father-in-law, Willie “Manhattan” Robinson of Yazoo City; sister-in law and brother-in-law, Rosalind Robinson Bonds of Phoenix, AZ and Willie “Woody” (Edith) Robinson of Jackson, special nieces/nephews - Natalie, Le’Andera, Lori, Ashley, Damon, Tlijah and Ahmond - and a host of other great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and huge circle of friends/associates, especially his “Family” at Mississippi Museum of Art and his fellow Classmates-Friends/Yazoo City High School Class of 1974.
