Memorial services will be held for Joyce Lorraine Tait at Hebron Baptist Church in the Phoenix Community in Yazoo County on Sunday, March 4, 2018 with visitation at 1:30 p.m. and funeral at 2:30 p.m.
Mrs. Tait was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 5, 1931 and died February 24, 2018. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Vicksburg. She served in the Music Department for 33 years and as church secretary for over 20 years.
Since 1998 she resided in the Phoenix Community of Yazoo County. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and served as organist.
She played music for churches in Mississippi and Texas for over 75 years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Tait, Jr. and son Richard E. Tait.
She is survived by William D. Tait of Memphis, Tenn.; Tracey R. Tait and his wife Tonya of Vidalia, La.; Vicki L. Tait Teeter and husband Edward of Starkville. She also had 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one whom is deceased.
The family has entrusted Stricklin-King Funeral Home of Yazoo City with the arrangements.
