Joseph (“Joe”) Spencer Perry, Sr. passed away on May 26, 2023, after a brief illness.
Joe was born on January 30, 1952, in Yazoo City. He graduated from Bentonia High School and attended Hinds Junior College.
Joe is survived by two children, Lana Howell (Shannon) of Flora and Stampley Perry (Erin) of Madison. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Spencer Howell, Harper Perry and
Emma Perry. He also leaves behind his brothers, Dennis Perry (Brenda) and Richard Perry, Jr. (Lisa) , both of Benton, and a sister, Nora McInnis, (Clint) of Madison as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his son, Joseph Spencer Perry, Jr., and his parents, Dick and Mary Belle Perry of Bentonia.
Joe had a long, successful career as a trim and finish carpenter and loved building and installing woodworking projects for others.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Anding Baptist Church, Bentonia, MS.
