Jessie Ray “J.R.” Jones, 89 of Yazoo City died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at The State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. A U. S. Navy Veteran he was a member and Deacon at Short Creek Baptist Church, and a retired Electrician.
Survivors include his daughters; Evelyn (Don) Corley of Yazoo City, Margaret Pickett of Pearl, MS, and Glenda (Carl) Rayfield of Hernando, MS, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister Vivian Waasser of Ridgeland.
Services will be held at Short Creek Baptist Church with visitation starting at 1:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m. Rev. Jerry File will Officiate. Internment will follow in Shortcreek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Russ Allen, Buddy Callihan, Leslie Metcalfe, Tim Manor, William Jones, & Johnny Williams.
