James Franklin Martin died November 12, 2016. His final resting place will be in Woodlawn Park in Miami, Florida.
Buck was born to William Franklin Martin (Bill Jr.) and Eula Mae Dixon Martin on February 11, 1940. He spent most of his childhood in Bentonia, where he made many lifelong friends.
He played second base for the Yazoo County Babe Ruth League All Start Team that won the Mississippi State Championship in the 1950s. He finished Benton High School and Holmes Jr. College and served in the U.S. Army.
Buck was highly respected as a construction manager of transit projects throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his son, James F. Martin Jr.; and his sister, Dorothy Ann Lungrin.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea Martin of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Lee Ann Williams of Pearl; and brother, William Perry “Billy” Martin of Flora.
Buck will be surely missed by his family, and his legacy will live on.
