Gloria Dees, 66, of Yazoo City, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Baptist Memorial Medical Center Yazoo. An licensed practical nurse at Martha Coker Green House Homes and King's Daughters Hospital, she was a member of Westwood Baptist Church but attended Church of God of Prophecy .
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Dees, Sr.; son, Jerry Dees Jr.; daughter, Tammy Dees; brother, Sam Manning, all of Yazoo City; sister, Laura Brent of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, Corley Dees and Nathan Dees, both of Yazoo City.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ruby Campbell Manning, Sr.; sister, Frances Saxton; and father and mother-in-law, Hobert and Mary Dees.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 29 at the Church of God of Prophecy on Graball Free-Run Rd in Yazoo City under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 1:00 P.M. with services at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Internment will follow in the Dees Family Cemetery on Center Ridge Road in Yazoo County.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Leal, Chris Henson, Tim McMillian, Robert Barnett, Larry Pickell, and Kapin Engleman.
