Florence Buxton, 83, of Yazoo City passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Martha Coker Green House Homes.
Mrs. Buxton was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Yazoo County to Claude and Ethel Wooten Saxton. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Buxton (Becky) and John Buxton both of Yazoo City; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Cecil W. Saxton of Yazoo City.
Mrs. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Buxton; son, James R Buxton; daughter, Nancy Jackson; great-granddaughter, Olivia Morgan; sisters, Dorothy Rash and Lena Stamey; and brothers, Major Saxton, and Harris “Cotton" Saxton.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will not be a visitation, and the graveside services are limited to family. The graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, May 12 at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Pittman will officiate.
