Edwina “Penny” Dunn Foster, of Midnight, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Born on October 22, 1939, in Vicksburg, she dedicated 39 years to her passion as a nurse, caring deeply for others. She was a cherished member of Straight Bayou Baptist Church and lived her life with a deep devotion to God.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Foster, and her parents, Lucille Maxwell Dunn and Ray Dunn. She is survived by her children, Sherry Roberts of Biloxi, Susie Sory of Isola, and Floyd “Bubbie” (Lisa) Childs of Midnight, her grandchildren who knew and loved her as “Gree”, include Dean (Mari Adan) Johnson, Tony (Laura) Johnson, Amanda (Chris) Bishop, Brittany Childs, Bo (Macy) Childs, and Brad (Madison) Childs. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Tyler, John Anthony, Noah, Preston, Nataleigh, Will, Hayes, Addy Grace, Cole, Ryder, Olivia, JanieBeth, Jax, Liam, Bryson, and Taylor Hays. James Sample, a cousin like a brother to her, held a special place in her heart.
Penny’s life was a beautiful reflection of love and kindness. To know her was to love her, and the memories shared will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm, Friday, November 15, 2024, at Straight Bayou Cemetery in Anguilla. The Graveside service will begin at 3:30 pm, with Rev. Steve Thomas officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
