Funeral services for Charlie Lamar "Butch" Edmonds Jr., 43, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Wood Springs Cemetery near Stewart, with military honors at graveside. Rev. Steven Carter will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Edmonds died in Greenville on Tuesday, June 27. He was born in Canton on October 15, 1973, to Charlie Lamar Edmonds and Opal Ann Edmonds. He was an electronics technician and served in the U. S. Navy for twenty years, before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Edmonds; and his step-grandparents, Willard Day and Bessie Nell Ketchum.
Mr. Edmonds is survived by his daughter, Jessica Bruce (Rodney) of West; his mother, Opal Ann Edmonds of Kilmichael; father and stepmother, Charlie Lamar and Margaret Edmonds of Yazoo City; sisters, Amanda Kaye Manseill (Randell) of Greenville and Patty Pugh (Aubrey) of Yazoo City; brother, Jimmy Fitts (Lori) of Camden; grandson, Singleton Bruce of West; grandparents, Odell and Peggy Fitts, Melvin Lamar and Willie Mae Edmonds; and ten nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Willard Ketchum, Brian Ketchum, Scottie Chandler, Will Parker, Jim Chappelear, and Brandon Thornton.
