Brinda Gale Rucker-White died Sept. 26, 2016.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Yazoo Community Complex with Sir Jonathan Rucker officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Garden Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rucker was born July 17, 1959 in Yazoo County to Johnnie and Lucy Mae Rucker. She was a 1977 graduate of Yazoo City High School and was affiliated with the Solid Torch Group.
She joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church under the late Booker T. Miles, then later moved to New Pilgrim Rest. As she was still searching in life, she joined King Solomon M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin Hall. Later in life she joined Burden Bearer Ministry under Pastor Shirley Thomas. God changed her and saved her life.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Royal “Lil Mane” and Doyal.
Survivors include her sons, Salegus Rucker and Danvesse Rucker, both of Yazoo City, and Sir Jonathan Rucker of Del City, Okla.; daughters, Lucy White of Yazoo City and Lakiva Rucker Moore (Randy), even though she was her niece she was always considered a daughter; sisters, Johnnie Rucker of Yazoo City, and Patricia “Brighteye” Rucker of Ridgeland; sister-in-law, Francine Parker Rucker of Ridgeland; brothers, Lindsey Rucker of Greenville and Christopher Rucker of Yazoo City; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild on the way; special friend Mary “Liz” Allen; and the man she planned to marry, Christopher “Edwin” Carter; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Green Jr., Tony Rucker, Robbie Green, Anthony Green, Jason Jones and Walter Rucker.
Honorary pallbearers were Cornelius Rucker, Clinton Moore IV, Roderick Fox Jr., Antonio Carter Jr., Christopher Rucker Jr., and Christopher “Dominique” Rucker.
