Aubrey Johnston, 78, of Benton, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his residence.
Visitation and services will be held Tuesday, September 7, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with visitation starting at 9 a.m. until the services at noon, under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home. Internment will follow in the Bull Cemetery on Highway 16E. Rev. James Pettis and Rev. Richard Jennings will officiate.
A building contractor, he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a Veteran of The U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Busby Johnston; son, Joseph (Sandy) Johnston, Jr. of Batesville; daughter, Phyllis (Mike) Parks of Brandon; grandchildren, Kayla (Jonathan) Rineheart, Michael Armstrong, Samantha (Ron) Haggard, William (Abi) Johnston; great grandchildren, Carson Rineheart, Jaxon Rineheart, Frankie Haggard, Harrison Haggard, Elizabeth Haggard, and Bailey Johnston; and a sister, Linda Wright of Benton.
Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Myra Dale Jones Johnston; brothers, William, Herbert, Milton and Jean Johnston; sisters; Katherine Dunson and Mildred Ward; and a son-in-law, Shannon Irby.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Armstrong, William Johnston, Jonathan Rineheart, Justin Todd, Tim Rineheart and Mike Parks.
Serving as honorary pall bearers are Kayla Rineheart, Samantha Haggard, Carson Rineheart. Jaxon Rineheart, Frankie Haggard, Dakota Todd, and Drake Todd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child, Bethlehem Baptist Church.
