A Yazoo City man is recovering from injuries following an attack by three unknown suspects last week.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the attack occurred last Thursday on Shady Drive. He was able to get a statement from the victim Tuesday morning, following his release from the hospital.
“The victim was walking through the area when he was attacked for a weapon,” Gann said. “The suspects knew the victim had a gun on him and called him over to where they were standing. Using a beer bottle and possibly a pipe, the suspects attacked the victim and stole his weapon from him.”
Gann said the victim had severe facial injuries along with other cuts and had to undergo surgeries. The victim has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators urge any witnesses to come forward with information by calling Crimestoppers at 746-TIPS.
