A would-be home invader picked the wrong house Wednesday morning.
A woman in a residence on Northpoint Drive noticed a man climbing through her window around 9 a.m., and she defended herself by stabbing the man several times in the hands and arms. The suspect fled the scene, and deputies were unable to locate him.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said the suspect is a black male who should have some significant cuts on his hands and arms.

Scary clown sightings have been reported in numerous locations lately, but Sheriff said recent reports of menacing clowns in Yazoo County were a hoax.
“We got several calls about clowns on the side of the road on Highway 3, but it turned out just to be a hoax started by some kids on social media,” Sheriff said. “The photo that was supposedly taken on Highway 3 was obviously not even actually taken there.”
A Holmes County man was charged with felony third offense DUI after flagging down a deputy to ask for directions.
Sheriff said James Gibson was visibly intoxicated when he waved down a deputy at the intersection of Eden-Midway and Niven roads. Gibson was behind the wheel of his vehicle when he stopped the deputy.
He blew a .233 on the breathalyzer, which is well above the legal limit of .08.
