Deputies say a Yazoo County woman was heavily intoxicated and had children in the vehicle with her when she fled the scene of an accident Monday.
Roxanna Criddle was arrested Monday after investigators say she hit another car at the Benton Truck Stop on Miss. Highway 16 and sped away. A deputy stopped her near her home on Graball Road.
“She was severely intoxicated,” said Sheriff Jake Sheriff.
Criddle was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
Sheriff said he was pleased to see a quick arrest in this case, but he is concerned with the number of accidents related to drinking and driving in the county.
“We are going to continue enforcing the law and making DUI arrests,” Sheriff said. “Hopefully more people will start considering the risks.”
