A Warren County man wanted for allegedly shooting his sister was arrested by Yazoo deputies this weekend after a brief standoff along Highway 3.
Brian Greer, 40, was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly shot his sister in her camper in Warren County. The victim was taken to a Jackson hospital, where she received medical attention.
After dumping his vehicle, Greer began walking on Highway 3 into Yazoo County. He was spotted by deputies not far from the Warren County line on Highway 3.
“We actually received a call about a trespasser in that area,” said Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department. “We located Greer in a ditch behind some trees.”
Gann said Greer was in possession of a handgun, and he refused to come out of the ditch or give up his weapon. After a brief standoff, Gann said Greer put down his weapon and turned himself in to authorities.
Greer was then taken back to Warren County, where he is being held.
