Two armed men rob Exxon

By JAMIE PATTERSON,

Two gun-wielding suspects remain on the run after robbing a local convenience store during the early morning hours last Sunday.

Capt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the armed robbery occurred around 5 a.m. at the Exxon gas station on Jerry Clower Boulevard.

“Officers spoke with the clerk who said that two male individuals wearing masks entered the store brandishing firearms,” Nevels said. “The clerk said they asked her to open the register and give them the money. The two male suspects then fled the scene with the cash from the drawer.”

Nevels said there were injuries reported during the incident. He also said that investigators are working to obtain a clear picture of the suspects from the store’s surveillance system.

CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 in the arrest of these two individuals. Anonymous tips can be made to 746-TIPS.
