A shooting over the weekend at a local nightclub left one man dead and another female victim recovering from a gunshot to the head.
Christopher Wiley Turnage was charged with murder and aggravated assault in the deadly altercation.
Chief Jeff Curtis said officers were called out to LB’s Night Club on Bridge Street around 1 a.m. early Sunday morning.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Tyrone Collins, 25, dead from a gunshot wound.
“The deceased victim Tyrone Collins was shot in the chest area,” Curtis said.
Curtis said a 24-year-old female victim was also injured during the incident.
“The other victim was shot in the head and transferred to Jackson,” Curtis said. “But she is in stable condition.”
Turnage turned himself into the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department after the incident.
