Sunday will mark three years since Yazoo County business owner Ricky Saxton was murdered, and his daughter wants to use the occasion to share a message of hope.
Stacey Saxton Milner will speak at Central Baptist Church in Little Yazoo on Sunday at 6 p.m. She said she wants to share how here faith and God has carried her through such tragedy.
“About two months ago I started feeling like God was putting on my heart to share my story,” Milner said. “I grew up going to Central Baptist Church, so it seemed appropriate to do it there. I hope that it will be encouraging to others.”
Milner said her faith allowed her to focus on forgiveness and to reflect on how blessed she was to have a loving father rather than just being angry and becoming bitter.
“I want to share what my faith has done for me because it can do the same for others no matter what they’re going through in life,” she said.
Milner said she is grateful for all of the support her family has received since her father was murdered and now that the trial for his accused killers is set to begin in December.
“The support for our family has been incredible, and it means so much for us,” she said. “Now I hope this will be an opportunity to use this to glorify God and encourage others.”
