A habitual offender is back behind bars after officers discovered him with over two pounds of marijuana and a large amount of cash at a local motel.
Jimmy L. Simmons, 35, of Yazoo City, was arrested last Friday at the Relax Inn on East Fifteenth Street.
Simmons was found with over two and a half pounds of marijuana and over $2,000 was seized by the Yazoo City Police Department.
Simmons has a lengthy criminal record including several drug-related charges. He is also a convicted felon.
Simmons was taken into custody with no incident and is awaiting initial appearance with the Municipal Court.
