A Yazoo City man who was just released from prison three weeks ago is back behind bars this week.
Corey Ingram, 28, was charged with attempted burglary and resisting arrest last Friday.
Officer James Shiers, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the incident began in the Country Club area.
“A call came into to us about a burglary in progress,” Shiers said. “Ingram didn’t get into the house, but he was trying to when someone pulled up on him.”
Shiers said Ingram then led officers on a foot chase that ended on Grand Avenue, where officers apprehended him.
“He was actually out on parole from prison for burglaries,” Shiers added. “He was released only three weeks ago.”
Ingram remains in jail on a $30,000 bond.
In other police news, Brian Davis Baker, 25, was charged with armed robbery and burglary last Wednesday.
“Baker forced his way into a home and attempted to rob someone with a weapon,” Shiers said.
After officers received a call, they noticed Baker in the nearby Broadmoor Apartment Complex on Westview Drive, where he was quickly arrested without incident.
“Baker was also out on bail for assault on a police officer,” Shiers said. “And he was on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.”
Baker remained in jail on a $75,000 bond for the armed robbery charge and a $30,000 bond for burglary charge.
