A Bentonia man died from two stab wounds to the back Sunday night.
James R. Williams, 53, of 1150 Little Big Mound Road, was found slumped over the wheel and covered in blood when first responders arrived at his home.
A family member reported that Williams had been stabbed by calling 911 at 11:34 p.m. Sunday. Williams had stopped breathing by the time emergency responders arrived. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Departmen is investigating the incident, which is believed to have resulted from a domestic dispute.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers confirmed that Williams suffered two stab wounds.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said a suspect is being questioned, but no charges had been filed at press time.
