A habitual offender who is also suspected to be a drug dealer was charged this week in connection to a March shooting.
Richard Baker was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Capt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said Baker allegedly shot at two females who were walking on Jackson Avenue. Baker shot at the victims while driving his vehicle.
No injuries were reported at the incident.
“In the midst of this incident, he was also bound over to the Grand Jury on residential burglary charges,” Nevels said. “He was also recently arrested by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics for the sale of narcotics.”
