The victim wasn’t hit by a bullet, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying.
A Yazoo County man is charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle after firing multiple shots into a vehicle with another man inside.
Alexander “Phat” Williams, 22, was arrested by deputies with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department after the shooting, which took place on Irwin Road near Big Mound Road in Bentonia.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said Williams had been feuding with the suspect for over a week, and the argument escalated. He said Williams fired multiple rounds at the victim with an AR 15 rifle.
“Bullets came within inches of the victim’s face,” Sheriff said. “All of the glass was pretty much shot out of the vehicle.”
Sheriff said he was glad his deputies were able to make a quick arrest.
“This could have easily been a much worse situation,” Sheriff said.
