An attempted robbery led one juvenile to confessing to another armed robbery within Yazoo City. And his alleged adult accomplice landed in jail alongside him this week.
Demisyoung Moore, a juvenile being charged as an adult, was charged with attempted armed robbery.
Charles Watts is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and accessory after the fact.
Cpt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said Moore attempted to rob Subway last Tuesday but “changed his mind.”
“He went into the business, brandishing a gun and demanding money,” Nevels said. “Shortly afterwards, he fled the scene without taking any money or anything.”
After investigators apprehended Moore, Nevels said he admitted to the attempted robbery and another robbery that occurred at the Shell gas station on Grand Avenue on Sept. 21.
But Moore added more to his statement to investigators when he admitted he had help from Watts during his would-be robbery this week.
“Moore told investigators that Watts gave him the gun and went with him to Subway,” Nevels said.
Surveillance video footage does show both Watts and Moore entering Subway at the time of the attempted robbery.
