This workshop is for individuals seeking initial certification or recertification to work in an establishment handling food. The 8-hour course satisfies the Mississippi Department of Health Requirements: discusses foodborne illnesses, including information on specific foodborne pathogens and biological toxins, such as shellfish poisoning, contamination, and food allergens. The course, taught by Shawn Davis, will cost $150.
For those needing to earn a 10-hour OSHA card for general industry, a program will be offered July 19-20, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The OSHA Outreach Training program costs $65, and limited seats are available. This program is one of OSHA's main methods of ensuring that workers know about workplace hazards and their rights. Participants will receive an official US Department of Labor OSHA10 Hour Card upon successful completion of your OSHA course.
The Computer 101 for Beginners course, offered free of charge, will be held on Tuesdays from July 19-Aug. 16, from 6-8 p.m. During this workshop, participants will learn about hardware and software, files and folders, and Window components such as the media player, flash drives, different ports and cleaning up the system.
