A habitual offender lands back behind bars after officers caught him red-handed trying to steal tools and a lawn mower from the police station.
Tyrone Wilson, 46, was charged with commercial burglary last Friday.
Chief Ron Sampson said Wilson, who has a lengthy history of burglary charges, burglarized the vehicle manager’s shed at the police department where tools and other pieces of equipment are kept.
“Wilson walked through the night gate, and nobody saw him enter,” Sampson said. “However, officers did later catch him in the shed, trying to walk out with tools and a lawn mower.”
As of press time, Wilson remained in jail.
