Many Yazooans are mourning the loss of a 45-year-old father of three who was killed in a lawnmower accident this week.
Ronnie Warren was cutting grass on a zero-turn mower Tuesday at a home on Valley Road when the mower overturned.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said the homeowners arrived at around 7:45 p.m. and noticed that they didn’t see Warren cutting the grass and didn’t hear the mower running. When they found him, they rolled the mower off and began administering CPR. First responders from the Tri Community Volunteer Fire Department and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department continued those life-saving efforts, but Warren was declared dead when Medstat paramedics arrived.
Shivers said Warren was cutting grass along a steep hill when the accident occurred.
“It appears that the mower ran into a depression, causing the mower to roll down the hill,” Shivers said.
Friends remembered Warren as a down-to-earth family man who always had a positive attitude.
Warren was a senior construction operator for Atmos Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Pattie C. Warren; two daughters, Melanie and Olivia Warren; and a son, Brayden Warren.
Funeral services were Friday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Carter officiating.
