A suspect remains in jail after investigators connected him to theft of a trailer and in possession of a stolen truck.
Benjamin Slaton, 41, was charged with grand larceny and possession of a stolen item.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Slaton was caught in the possession of a stolen truck. The investigation also led to Slaton’s involvement in the theft of a $4,500 trailer and tools.
“He was involved with stealing a trailer and mechanical tools from a residence on Dover Road,” Gann said. “Since then, the trailer has been recovered. We found it in Jackson at a mechanic shop.”
Gann said the case could also lead to more suspects being charged.
