A rash of burglaries continues along U.S. Highway 49, with one reports of a suspicious vehicle circulating among its residents.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said there have been a number of burglaries reported along Highway 49 and in the Little Yazoo area.
Gann said two burglaries on Patterson Road and two burglaries on Fletcher’s Chapel Road have recently been reported in addition to those already reported since November.
“We did have a sighting of a suspicious vehicle on Patterson Road,” Gann said. “One person said they saw a white, four-door Nissan car.”
As of press time, no arrests had been made. But Gann said the department is following a few leads in their investigation. He said the majority of items stolen include guns, jewelry and electronics.
“We are asking that people who are home all day to keep an eye out within their neighborhoods,” Gann said. “Watch each other’s houses. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles, give us a call.”
