A family is offering a reward for any information surrounding a violent attack on their loved one last Saturday.
Wildy Raiford Hancock Jr., 54, of Bentonia, was found with severe head injuries at his home, following what investigators believed was a brutal attack.
“We received a call around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday from a family member who found the victim in his back yard, and it appeared as if he had fell and hit his head,” Gann said. “Further investigation, however, showed that it appeared he had been beaten. He had been savagely attacked at his home.”
Hancock was taken to a hospital where he remains in recovery.
“He sustained severe head injuries, and we haven’t been able to get a complete statement from him just yet,” Gann said. “But what little we have been able to get from him is that he is not sure who did it, but he was attacked from behind and hit in the head.”
