The suspect wanted in connection to a Yazoo City shooting earlier this month turned himself into authorities Monday night.
Aaron Walker was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Chief Ron Sampson, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the victim remained in the hospital as of Friday and continues to recover from a gunshot wound to the head.
The shooting occurred at a home on Calhoun Avenue on Nov. 10.
“The victim identified his shooter, which led us to pursuing Walker,” Sampson said. “The suspect knocked on the victim’s door in an attempt to rob him. But once the victim opened the door, the suspect fired one shot, striking the victim on the right side of the head.”
Sampson said the victim was able to tell officers who the shooter was once they arrived on the scene.
“He knew who the shooter was,” Sampson added. “Had the suspect used a larger caliber weapon rather than a small caliber weapon, we would be investigating a murder
