Police officers have arrested two Yazoo City men in connection with two separate aggravated assault cases. One incident involved two shootings while the other case led to a stabbing.
Tedric Levison, 27, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Capt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the two charges are from two separate incidents. The first case took place on March 6 at 321 North Wise St.
"Officers responded to a call concerning shots fired in the area," Nevels said. "Officers spoke with an elderly man who said the suspect fired shots into his vehicle."
No injuries were reported in that particular shooting.
However, Levison was charged in another shooting on April 2 at Valley View Apartments on Grand Avenue.
"It was a domestic situation where Levison shot his girlfriend in the right leg after a verbal confrontation," Nevels said.
In another assault case, Derrick Richardson, 31, was also charged with aggravated assault.
The incident began at Relax Inn between the suspect and a male victim.
"Richardson and another man got into a brief argument," Nevels said. "The suspect then pulled out his pocketknife, striking the victim in the upper forehead."
Both men remained in jail at press time.
