Two men were arrested after an altercation over money led to gunfire and a destroyed vehicle.
Leana Donelson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. And Peewee Lee was charged with malicious mischief.
Police Chief Ronald Sampson said the incident stemmed from an altercation over Lee confronting Donelson over money being taken from him about two weeks ago.
“Lee confronted Donelson on Meadow Street,” Sampson said. “During the confrontation, Donelson’s vehicle was destroyed. Lee knocked out all the windows, the headlights and the tail lights.”
Sampson said Donelson then fled the scene. About 40 minutes later, Lee returned to paving a driveway on Grady Avenue.
“While Lee was on the leveler, grading the driveway, Donelson showed up and fired seven to eight shots,” Sampson said. “Lee was not hit and fled the scene.”
After the investigating the incident, officers discovered the details behind the entire altercation and charged both men Wednesday.
