Macklyn Austin (left) and Johnathan Hooker stand beside a blessing box they constructed at the south end of Main Street. The box is filled with food items, and residents in need are encouraged to take what they need. Others who are able are encouraged to leave items. Austin and Hooker, who lead a local civic group known as Brothers for the Community, normally host a free Thanksgiving dinner during the holiday, but they were unable to do it this year due to COVID-19. Instead they selected a local family, catered dinner for them and bought gifts.
