The white father and son duo who were charged with shooting at two African-American juveniles last September were indicted on six counts in Yazoo County Circuit Court earlier this month.
On March 8, Lane and Wade Twiner were indicted on three counts of aggravated assault, one count of malicious mischief, one count of conspiracy to commit a crime and one count of discriminatory enhancement.
The father and son duo were charged in September of 2020 in connection with shooting and attempting to run down two juveniles who were riding four-wheelers on Judkins Road.
One of the juvenile victims spoke with The Yazoo Herald, following the incident. He said the two suspects shot multiple times at him and his friend from behind and beside them. No injuries were reported during the chase. And the victim said another vehicle even attempted to help them by trying to stop the suspects’ truck.
The Yazoo Herald does not identify victims of a crime.
The recent indictment states that both suspects attempted to run one juvenile victim off of the road with their truck. It also states that the Twiner duo fired shots at both of the victims.
The indictment also indicates that the suspects caused about $2,480 in damage to one of the four-wheelers of the victims.
Along with the conspiracy indictment, the suspects will also face discriminatory enhancement indictments, which occurs if an offender commits an aggravated assault based on the victim’s perceived color, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or gender.
