The Nation's Weather for Friday, August 25, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A zone of severe thunderstorms is expected to develop
tomorrow from the Ohio Valley into the mid-Atlantic as a
cold front dives southward through the region. Damaging wind
gusts and flooding downpours will be possible from eastern
Kentucky across most of Virginia and perhaps into southern
New Jersey. North of there, areas of rain and thunderstorms
will track across New England, with additional showers and
thunderstorms for the interior Northeast. The same cold
front will pass through the Midwest tomorrow, bringing
thunderstorms but also some relief after some of the hottest
weather of the summer so far. Spotty afternoon storms cannot
be ruled out in portions of the Southeast, especially near
the Gulf Coast. Monsoon storms, some heavy, will occur in
the Southwest.
