Manchester Academy has won three out of four games played in August as the Lady Mavericks are off to a strong start on the season.
MA 13, St. Joseph 7
Angel Rae Carpenter drove in five runs to lead MA to victory over St. Joseph. She had a two-run single in the first inning and drove in three runs with an inside the park home run in the second.
Aubree Walton, Angel Rae Carpenter and Molly Foster had two hits each to lead the way at the plate.
Emma Roberts drove in two runs for the Lady Mavericks. Claire Stevens, Molly Foster and Morgan Foster each drove in a run for MA.
MA 9, Deer Creek 5
Angel Rae Carpenter had another big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBI to help lead her team to a second straight victory. She had an RBI single in the first inning to put the first point of the game on the board.
Aubree Walton and Claire Stevens drove in two more runs in the second inning.
Embrie Carpenter earned the win on the mound for MA. She also had a strong performance at the plate with two hits and three RBI.
Stevens and Emma Roberts each had a hit and an RBI.
MA 5, Indianola 4
Aubree Walton drew a walk with the bases loaded to give the Lady Mavericks a 5-4 victory at Indianola.
It was an exciting rally for MA as they trailed 4-0 after the first inning.
Claire Stevens grounded out to drive in the run that tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the third inning.
Analee Whitworth started the game pitching for MA, and Embrie Carpenter provided three innings of solid relief.
Walton had a hit and two RBI to lead the Lady Mavericks at the plate.
Washington School 16, MA 3
Manchester outhit Washington 11 to nine, but the Lady General still walked away with the victory, snapping a three-game winning streak for the Lady Mavericks.
Claire Stevens, Molly McBride and Angel Rae Carpenter each drove in a run for MA.
McBride had three hits, while Angel Rae Carpenter and Analee Whitworth each had two.
