Lois Halford Kinnison Long joined our Lord on January 16, 2026, in the Madison County Nursing Home in Canton. A graveside service was held January 19, 2026 in Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home.
She was born on July 25, 1927, in El Dorado, Ark. She lived most of her life in Yazoo City and was a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Louie and Lena Martin Halford; her sister, Chris Halford Kirk; and her loving husband of 50 years, Carl Anderson "Pete" Kinnison. She and Pete worked together during the early years at R.B. Gil in Yazoo City. In 1978, they opened Kinnison's Kountry Korner where they spent many happy years operating together.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Long; son, Rex Kinnison of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three great great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great, great nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be great, great nephews, Kirk and Hunter Douglas, Mark Salina, James Douglas, Pat Peeples, and Marshall Duell.
All arrangements will be handled by Stricklin King Funeral Home.
