The Manchester Academy Mavericks had their way with Tunica Academy this past Friday night, cruising to their sixth win of the season with a 52-20 victory.
The Mavericks rushed for 265 yards as a team led by Greyson Winstead with 143 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.
Tyler Johnson chipped in with 74 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Quarterback Reed Miller completed 5-of-9 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Kemp Black was the leading receiver with two catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Reed Roberts had one reception for 32 yards and a score and Johnson had two catches for 15 yards.
Manchester led 6-0 after one quarter of play but erupted for 22 second quarter points to take a 28-6 lead at the half.
They added 16 more points in the third quarter to Tunica’s six and lead 43-12 after three quarters.
Both teams scored eight points in the final frame.
Manchester (6-1) hosts Columbus Academy this Friday for Senior Night, in their final home game of the regular season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
