Head Coach: Emily Poe
Last Season’s Record/Finish: 28-2; Class 2A State Champions
Projected Starters: Lizzy Carpenter, Senior, Karley Martin, Senior, Zoie Baker, Junior, Sydney Porter, Sophomore, Anna Grace Ellison, Sophomore
Key Reserves: Lexie Greenlee, Pressley Trammell,
What’s Poe Saying: Says Poe, “We lost five seniors but I am excited to see these girls pick up where those seniors left off. We have a good chance at competing late in the season and I’m looking forward to this season.”
Season Outlook: Gone are the five seniors (including Herald Player of the Year Lanie Potter) who led the way to the state title last season, but Poe is excited to see where this edition of the Lady Mavs picks up. Expect returning starters and seniors Carpenter and Martin to lead the way. Post player Baker, who transferred from Yazoo City, should play a pivotal role on the inside while Porter, Greenlee and Ellison will factor in heavily to the overall success of the team. If Poe can get some production from her ninth graders the Lady Mavs have a chance of competing late in the season.
