My name is David Starling, and I am announcing my candidacy for Mayor in the upcoming election.
I am a lifelong resident of Yazoo City with a burning desire to work with all elected officials and the citizens of this community to make Yazoo City a quality place in which to live, work, do business, and raise a family.
I am confident in my ability to work with anyone and everyone regardless of race, sex, or political affiliation to achieve this goal.
I consider myself a “servant” to people and especially the people of this community! As a former Educator for over 25 years with the Yazoo City Public Schools, I am no stranger to anyone nor hard work.
Whether I was knocking on doors, driving through our neighborhoods, stopping on street corners, holding impromptu conferences in the grocery stores, parking lots, and even at the county fair, my job did not end when I left the school, I served wherever I was to whomever needed me.
As your Mayor, I will bring that same energy and enthusiasm to serve this entire community with the goal of ensuring our community is safe, promotes a positive environment for families to live in, students to learn in, and businesses to grow in.
