The Yazoo City Ministerial Association will once again sponsor the annual observance of the National Day of Prayer.
This 2022 observance is scheduled for Thursday, May 5. The program will begin at noon on the front steps of the Yazoo County Courthouse, and the public is invited to attend.
The theme of this year’s observance, as set by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, is a call to praise in prayer, “Exalt the Lord, Who Has Established Us.” The theme is based on Colossians 2:6-7. It is projected that many will gather in county locations, state capitols, city halls, schools, businesses, public and private venues to pray this theme.
Local National Day of Prayer planning is under the direction of Rev. Ken Lynch, Pastor of Parkview Church of God, on behalf of the sponsoring group, the Yazoo City Ministerial Association. Other ministers and lay leaders from throughout the city will be leading prayers and participating on the May 5 program.
Pastor Lynch shares the sentiments of the National Day of Prayer planners by stating “Regardless of the challenges we face, we know that as God’s people pray, mountains are moved, and the darkness attempting to overtake out country is being pushed back!”
